Its recorded history starts with a sharecropping contract of 28 November 1467 for the lands of "cassina Careta". The property passed from the Damiano family to the Counts of Roero in 1811 and to the Veglia family of Turin in 1932, and has belonged to the Miroglio family of Alba since 1985. Of its 80 hectares, just under 35 surround the winery in the Roero, mostly Arneis for Cayega and Canorei, with Nebbiolo for Bric Paradiso and Barbera for Bric Quercia. The other 45 lie across the Tanaro in the Langhe: 2.6 hectares on Cannubi at Barolo, Cascina Bordino and Garassino at Treiso, Tavoleto and Il Palazzo at Alba. The Alta Langa sparkling wines come from Cissone, at about 600 metres.
