## About

Rocche dei Manzoni was founded in 1974 when Valentino Migliorini bought a farmhouse in Monforte d'Alba, in the locality of Manzoni Soprani. Two years later he made Bricco Manzoni, the first blended red of the Langhe, and in 1978 the first Metodo Classico sparkling wine in the area, and he brought small oak barriques to the hills. The estate farms 50 hectares, all inside the Monforte commune: mainly Nebbiolo for Barolo, plus Chardonnay and Pinot Nero for sparkling wine, on vines averaging 35 years old at about 350 metres. Single-site Barolos come from Bricco San Pietro, Perno and Castelletto, while concrete eggs, introduced in 2008 by Rodolfo, now sit beside the new barriques. Monforte d'Alba is one of the communes of the Barolo zone. A separate organic cellar, Pianpolvere Soprano in Bussia, was bought in 1998 and is run on its own.
