Seven generations later, Roberto Sarotto, who trained at wine school in Alba in 1984, expanded the estate from its original Dolcetto and Moscato plantings to roughly 90 hectares reaching Barolo, Novello, Neive, Mango, Gavi and Parodi Ligure, now run together with his children Enrico and Elena. The range spans Barolo and Barbaresco alongside Gavi, Arneis, Moscato d'Asti and a house Metodo Classico, with harvesting still done almost entirely by hand. In 2022 the winery set a Guinness World Record for the largest oak barrel in the world, built to age its Barolo Riserva Ai Fondatori. Neviglie sits in the Langhe, the vineyard landscape UNESCO added to its World Heritage list in 2014, a short drive from both Alba and Barbaresco. ## Visits & tastings A visit to Roberto Sarotto starts with a guided cellar tour in Neviglie, home to the Guinness World Record's largest wine barrel, ending with a tasting on the terrace.
