## About

Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative in the village of Barbaresco, founded in 1958 when parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo gathered nineteen growers. Today more than fifty member families farm about 120 hectares, all of it Nebbiolo, and the cellar makes roughly 650,000 bottles a year. It bottles only Nebbiolo: a Barbaresco blended from the members' vineyards, a Langhe Nebbiolo from the younger plots, and, in years judged excellent, nine single-vineyard Riserva wines (Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora, Rabajà and Rio Sordo) plus the blended Don Fiorino Riserva. All are vinified the same way, in large barrels with long macerations, so the differences between the crus come from the vineyards. The site traces the name back to 1894, when Domizio Cavazza first labelled a wine Barbaresco.
