## About

Paolo Conterno was founded in 1886 by Paolo Conterno at the Casa della Ginestra, in the historic Ginestra cru of Monforte d'Alba. The winery has been run across four generations, passing from Paolo to his son Carlo, then to Paolo and Caterina Conterno, and today to their son Giorgio. The Piemonte estate covers around ten hectares of calcareous clayey loam at 300 to 350 metres altitude on slopes of up to 38%, planted with Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The company also farms vineyards at the Antico Podere del Sant'Uffizio, between the hills of Asti and the Monferrato, and separately owns Tenuta Ortaglia in Tuscany. Annual production across the estates is around 80,000 bottles, vinified using vertical tanks and aged in French oak barrels of 35 hectolitres.
