## About

Monchiero Carbone is a family winery in the centre of Canale, in the Roero, housed in a nineteenth-century farmhouse whose basement holds a historic cellar untouched for more than two centuries. Francesco Monchiero, son of oenologist Marco Monchiero and Lucia Carbone, vinified his first vintage in 1990 and began full production with the 1995 harvest. The family's vineyard roots go back to 1918, when his great-grandmother Clotilde Valente bought the Mombirone plot, and to the Carbone family's early Arneis plantings on the Tanone hill. The estate now farms 38 hectares, including the Renesio, Srü and Printi sites and the Bricco Genestreto cru in Priocca. Arneis and Nebbiolo lead the range, with Barbera d'Alba, Favorita and Gavi alongside. A photovoltaic system was installed in 2020.
