## About

Azienda Agricola Mauro Rei is a family estate in Sala Monferrato, in the Monferrato Casalese hills of the province of Alessandria. The family sold grapes for generations until Giuseppe Rei began bottling his own wine in the early 1960s. In the 1990s Mauro, who oversees vineyard and cellar, took over, enlarged the vineyards and built the current hilltop cellar in 2000. Sons Alberto and Alessandro, an agrotechnician and an oenologist, work alongside him. Today the estate farms about 35 hectares and makes around 300,000 litres a year. The range covers Barbera in several styles, Grignolino, Freisa, Dolcetto, Bonarda, Nebbiolo, Syrah, Arneis, Chardonnay, a Nebbiolo rosato, a sparkling wine and sweet wines. Sala Monferrato is a small hill village with one of the densest concentrations of vineyards in the province.
