## About

Massolino is a family estate in Serralunga d'Alba, founded in 1896 by great-grandfather Giovanni and now run by its fourth generation, Franco, Paola and Roberto. Since 1956 the family has owned land in Vigna Rionda, one of Serralunga's most prestigious MGAs, and today farms roughly 3 of its 10.24 hectares. Alongside those parcels, four more historic crus are vinified separately: Margheria, Parafada, Parussi in Castiglione Falletto, and, since 2019, Albesani in Neive, where Massolino also began producing Barbaresco. Ageing is traditional, in large Slavonian oak casks, with the top Vigna Rionda Riserva resting in the cellar until its sixth year. The Massolino trademark is registered in Italy's Marchio Storico di Interesse Nazionale, reserved for marks in continuous use for at least fifty years. Serralunga d'Alba sits at the eastern edge of the Barolo zone, prized for firm, long-ageing wines grown on marl and limestone, about 15 km from Alba.
