## About

Le Marie is a family estate at Assarti, a hamlet of Barge at the foot of Monviso and Monte Bracco. It grew from the owner Valerio's passion for winemaking, and his wife Luigina and their children Simona and Daniele work alongside him. Ten hectares of vines sit between 400 and 450 metres on red schist soil, farmed with low-impact methods; the site cites a document of 1203 that already praises the wines of this land. The list is wide for a small cellar: Pinerolese Barbera in a steel-aged version and a single-vineyard Colombe, a Nebbiolo called Debarges, Dolcetto, and Rouge de Lissart, an old-vine blend of Barbera, Chatus, Freisa, Bonarda and Neiretta Pinerolese. There are also a Pinot Noir, whites including a Malvasia and the skin-fermented Ninin, a passito, and two metodo classico sparklings. Barge sits in Cuneo province, on the edge of the Po plain, in the Pinerolese wine area.
