## About

Giovanni Rosso is a family estate in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Barolo zone, where the family has farmed vineyards since 1906. Davide Rosso, an oenologist trained partly in Burgundy, has run the winery since 2001 and built a new cellar inspired by Bordeaux chateaux. The estate's Barolo draws on several MGA crus around Serralunga, among them Cerretta, Serra, Meriame, Sorano, Costabella and Damiano. Its most celebrated plot is Vignarionda, where some vines date to 1946; the family reacquired the vineyard in 2011 through Davide's mother, Ester Canale, and now bottles it as a single cru Barolo, alongside a small allocation released as futures. The range also includes Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo and Roero Arneis. Serralunga sits on the eastern side of the Barolo zone, where Sant'Agata Fossili marl soils typically give the appellation its most structured, slowest ageing wines.
