## About

Elio Perrone is a family winery in Castiglione Tinella, in the Cuneo hills at the heart of the Moscato d'Asti zone. The name runs in the family: Elio was the father who started the estate, and Elio is now the young son of today's winemaker, Stefano Perrone, who tends the vineyards and cellar with his wife Giuliana, who designs the labels. They call the estate an oenological tailor's shop, treating every harvest, wine and label as its own commission rather than a formula. The winery began with Moscato, whose delicate, easily overripened grapes taught the family how to time every harvest since. That same attention now covers Barbera from vineyards around Isola d'Asti and Agliano d'Asti, Nebbiolo and Riesling grown around Castiglione Tinella, and international varieties such as Chardonnay and Viognier blended alongside them. Castiglione Tinella itself sits in the Langa Astigiana, the hill country that bridges the Langhe and Monferrato.
