## About

Diego Pressenda began buying vineyard parcels around Monforte d'Alba at eighteen, and La Torricella is still the family home: his wife, four children, a son-in-law and six grandchildren all take part in running the estate, with daughter Silvia now the winemaker. The 15 hectares are split between Monforte d'Alba and nearby Roddino, planted from 450 up to 1000 meters with Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Chardonnay and Riesling Renano. Two of their Barolo bottlings carry the additional geographical mentions Bricco San Pietro and Le Coste di Monforte, both within Monforte d'Alba, one of the eleven communes of the Barolo DOCG in the Langhe hills southeast of Alba. The estate also makes a Metodo Classico sparkling wine built mainly on Dolcetto grapes, and in 2019 planted Pinot Nero for a future Alta Langa spumante. Production residues go back into the vineyards as fertilizer, and part of the estate's own energy needs are produced on site.
