## About

Cinzia Bergaglio is a family-run winery in Tassarolo, in the Gavi area of southern Piedmont, with vineyards also at Rovereto di Gavi. Wine has been made here for several generations, with small techniques and secrets handed down along the way. Farming favors a light touch: green manure between the rows instead of chemical fertilizers, short pruning, a green harvest in late July to limit yields, and gentle pressing in a horizontal press. Agronomist Daniele Eberle and oenologist Andrea Buzio look after the vineyards and cellar. The range centers on Cortese, the grape of Gavi: several estate whites, one matured two years on its own lees, a metodo classico sparkling aged on its lees for at least three years, and a passito, alongside a red blend of Barbera and Dolcetto. The vineyards lie on calcareous clay soil. Gavi DOCG, Piedmont's Cortese-based white wine appellation, sits in these hills near the Ligurian border, not far from Genoa.
