## About

Castello di Gabiano stands in the Monferrato hills of Alessandria province, above the Po valley. The Cattaneo Adorno Giustiniani family has farmed the estate for more than four centuries, and today Giacomo Cattaneo Adorno, the last Marquis of Gabiano, runs the property together with his wife Emanuela. The estate covers 260 hectares, 22 of them under vine, and the 12th-century cellars beneath the castle are still used for ageing. These Monferrato hills, part of a UNESCO wine landscape since 2014, rise between 120 and 350 metres and sit close to the 45th parallel.

The range is built on Barbera, from the everyday La Braja to the barrique-aged Adornes and the flagship Gabiano Riserva DOC, A Matilde Giustiniani, made only in the best vintages from a historic vineyard. Alongside it sit native Piemonte varieties such as Grignolino, Freisa and Malvasia di Casorzo, a Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, and a Sauvignon Blanc; several are certified organic.
