## About

Cascina Guido Berta is a family estate in San Marzano Oliveto, in the Monferrato hills of the Asti province, run day to day by Guido Berta, who grew up on his parents' farm before taking over the family vineyards and building his own cellar. The vines lie mostly around the farmhouse in the Saline district on limestone-clay soil, with a couple of plots in Agliano Terme and Nizza Monferrato; Barbera leads, planted from the 1960s onward, alongside Chardonnay and Moscato. San Marzano Oliveto is one of the eighteen communes inside the Nizza production zone, the Barbera-based DOCG that became its own appellation in 2014. The range runs from everyday Barbera d'Asti and Piemonte Chardonnay through Nizza and its riserva, Canto di Luna, to a Moscato d'Asti and two estate sparkling wines.
