## About

Cascina Chicco is a family estate in Canale, run by the Faccenda family across four generations since founder Ernesto, known locally as "Chicu" (Chicco), passed the cellar to his son Federico and on to today's generation. The family farms more than 50 hectares across five villages in the Roero and the Langhe: home ground in Canale and neighbouring Vezza d'Alba, Castellinaldo d'Alba to the north, and Monforte d'Alba and Barbaresco further south, matching each plot to the grape it suits. The range runs from Roero Arneis and Roero DOCG reds to Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barolo and Barbaresco, plus two dosage-zero classic method sparklers and traditional Roero styles such as Birbet and Arcass. The cellar is dug 28 metres into the hill, with solar panels and constant underground temperatures that cut the energy needed for ageing. Canale sits in the Roero, the sandy hills north of Alba known for Arneis and for increasingly refined Nebbiolo.
