## About

Cantine Sant'Agata is the Cavallero family estate at Scurzolengo, in the Monferrato hills of Asti. Franco Cavallero and his brother Claudio took over the family farm in the early 1990s and named it after a votive pillar of Saint Agatha standing in front of the house. Franco was already taking the wines abroad by 1993, with a first fair in Cologne. The estate is best known for Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato: single-vineyard and blended bottlings such as 'Na Vota, Il Cavaliere, Genesi and Pro Nobis. It also makes Barbera d'Asti, a Monferrato Nebbiolo Superiore, Gavi, and Barolo and Barbaresco under the La Fenice label, with the Barolo Bussia from Monforte d'Alba. Scurzolengo is one of the communes of the Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG zone, a short drive north of Asti.
