## About

Roberto Crosio started making wine in 2000 in Caluso, the Canavese town best known for Erbaluce, from a vineyard his parents gave him. Today he farms about 10 hectares on the moraine hills around Caluso, in the areas called Barbetta, Crava, Montasso, St. Antonino, Baiarda and S. Cristoforo. Most of the land is Erbaluce on traditional pergola canavesana. Nebbiolo and Barbera are trained on guyot, with some Merlot and Syrah. He uses integrated pest management and no herbicides, and works the vines largely by hand. The cellar is on the road at Candia Canavese, and his partner Monica hosts tastings. The range runs from fresh Erbaluce di Caluso through skin-macerated and barrel-aged versions to Caluso Passito and Metodo Classico sparkling, with a few Canavese and Piemonte reds and a rosato. The vineyards sit on the Ivrea moraine amphitheatre, a glacial formation, in the north-west of Piemonte.
