## About

Bruno Giacosa (1929 to 2018) began bottling wine under his own name in the early 1960s, after growing up in a family of grape and wine merchants started by his grandfather Carlo and continued by his father Mario. In 1964 he released one of the first single-vineyard Barbarescos, from the Santo Stefano vineyard in Neive. For years he bought grapes from established growers across Barolo and Barbaresco, then acquired vineyards of his own: Falletto in Serralunga d'Alba in 1982, and Asili and Rabajà in Barbaresco in 1996. The red-label Riserva bottlings are made only in exceptional vintages. Since his passing the house has been led by his daughter Bruna Giacosa with oenologist Dante Scaglione, keeping the traditional approach of long maceration and ageing in large Slavonian oak botti.

## Wines (8)

- [Asili](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-asili.md): Barbaresco DOCG, Nebbiolo, Red. Asili, acquired by Giacosa in 1996, is one of Barbaresco's two finest crus and produces the estate's most sought-after Barbaresco.
- [Barbera d'Alba Superiore](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-barbera-d-alba-superiore.md): Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, Barbera, Red. Barbera d'Alba Superiore comes from the Falletto vineyard and is the estate's sole barrel-aged Barbera.
- [Dolcetto d'Alba](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-dolcetto-d-alba.md): Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Dolcetto, Red. A fresh, everyday Dolcetto made in the estate's traditionalist style.
- [Falletto](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-falletto.md): Barolo DOCG, Nebbiolo, Red. Falletto was Bruno Giacosa's first vineyard purchase, acquired in 1982 in Serralunga d'Alba, and remains the estate's benchmark Barolo.
- [Falletto Vigna Le Rocche Riserva](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-falletto-vigna-le-rocche-riserva.md): Barolo DOCG Riserva, Nebbiolo, Red. Vigna Le Rocche is a monopole parcel within the Falletto vineyard with ideal south-west exposure; its rare red-label Riserva release is treated as a barometer of the vintage's quality.
- [Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-nebbiolo-d-alba-valmaggiore.md): Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC, Nebbiolo, Red. Produced since as far back as 1971, Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore is Giacosa's more accessible, early-drinking Nebbiolo from the Roero side of the Tanaro.
- [Rabajà](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-rabaja.md): Barbaresco DOCG, Nebbiolo, Red. Rabajà, acquired alongside Asili in 1996, is considered one of Barbaresco's two finest crus and gives Giacosa's wines their characteristic elegance.
- [Roero Arneis](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bruno-giacosa-roero-arneis.md): Roero Arneis DOCG, Arneis, White. Bruno Giacosa and Vietti were pioneers in reviving Arneis from near-extinction; Giacosa's Roero Arneis remains one of the appellation's benchmark whites.
