## About

La Tommasina is a three-hectare estate at Frassinello Monferrato, in the Basso Monferrato hills of Alessandria province, run since 2002 by Pier Angelo Ruschena. He inherited the land and the passion from his father Francesco and replanted the vineyards with native varieties. Work in the vines is mostly manual, without herbicides or systemic products, using only sulphur, copper and pyrethrum. The wines ferment without added yeasts and age in fibreglass and steel; the estate is VinNatur certified.

The five main reds are named for the number of rows that feed them: Erpiè (6, Bonarda), Juspin (7, Freisa), MiaDama (8, Barbera), Grigné (34, Grignolino) and Medesimo (52, Ruchè). A rosé, 6.8 Bon.Ba, joined in 2024. Frassinello sits about 15 km from Casale Monferrato, on calcareous soils mixed with sand and clay.
