# Sleeping Among the Vines: Piemonte Wine Estates With Rooms

_Eight family wineries in the Langhe, the Asti hills and Monferrato where the cellar door is a few steps from your bedroom._

The best part of a day of tastings in the Langhe is not having to drive at the end of it. Plenty of Piemonte wineries let rooms, from a seven-room B&B above the village of Barolo to a castle in Verduno and a Monferrato cascina that dates its hospitality to 1881. Here are eight estates on our site where the cellar and the bedroom share an address, with what each offers and the wine to look for.

## Why so many wineries now have rooms

The hills keep getting busier. In 2025 the area covered by the Langhe Monferrato Roero tourist board counted 761,274 arrivals and 1,731,116 overnight stays, up 9.6% and 11.9% on 2024, according to the Cuneo Chamber of Commerce's annual report, based on the Piemonte Region's tourism observatory. Italians accounted for 38.6% of those nights, so about six in ten were booked by visitors from abroad, led by Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France and the United States. Many of the region's family estates run an agriturismo: a working farm that also offers beds, breakfast and often a meal.

## Barolo country: Cagliero, Revello, Ca' Brusà and Castello di Verduno

[Cagliero](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/cagliero) sits on Via Monforte just outside Barolo. During a renovation of the whole property in 1999 to 2001 the family added Il Ciabot, a B&B of seven double rooms, each with its own bathroom. It is named after the small huts in the vineyards where growers once kept their tools and rested in the hottest hours. Some rooms were carved from the old haylofts and look over the village of Barolo; the attic rooms share a large terrace, and all are furnished with pieces from the family's homes. The estate's [Ravera](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/cagliero-ravera) Barolo is the bottle to ask about.

[F.lli Revello](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/f-lli-revello) runs an agriturismo halfway up the hill at Annunziata in La Morra, with three large rooms, a small patio facing the vines and a breakfast of homemade cakes, jams and mountain cheeses. The family also lets four apartments in the old centre of La Morra, three for two people and one for up to six, a short walk from restaurants and the Cantina Comunale. Guests can book a visit and a tasting, which might take in single-vineyard Barolo such as [Gattera](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/f-lli-revello-gattera).

At [Ca' Brusà](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/ca-brusa), in Località Manzoni at Monforte d'Alba, there are six rooms among the Barolo vineyards and a panoramic restaurant serving Piemontese cooking with the estate's wines. Breakfast, the family says, means homemade cakes, jams from its own orchards and bread baked in a wood oven. Try the [Langhe Nascetta](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/ca-brusa-langhe-nascetta), from a white grape we [wrote about in September](https://ilvinobello.com/editorial/nascetta-novellos-rescued-white-and-the-langhe-wines-it-makes), alongside the [Menico](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/ca-brusa-menico) Barolo.

[Castello di Verduno](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/castello-di-verduno) is the grandest of the group. The castle was begun in the early sixteenth century and bought in 1838 by King Carlo Alberto of Savoy, who put General Staglieno in charge of the estate and its cellar. Today the family describes it as hotel, restaurant, winery and agriturismo in one. The agriturismo, Cà del Re, has six rooms and an apartment, a saltwater infinity pool and cooking classes. Do not leave without the [Basadone](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/castello-di-verduno-basadone), Verduno's own Pelaverga.

## Barbaresco and Diano: Ada Nada and Casa Castella

[Ada Nada](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/ada-nada) pairs its winery at Rombone, in Treiso, with an agriturismo in an eighteenth-century farmhouse. Every room has a view and a private bathroom, and several are named after the estate's wines. The family lists doubles at 115 to 139 euro a night with breakfast, plus apartments, a pool and sunset tastings at the Casot, a hilltop lookout. The [Valeirano](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/ada-nada-barbaresco-valeirano) Barbaresco shares its name with one of the apartments.

[Bricco Maiolica](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/bricco-maiolica), at Diano d'Alba, runs Casa Castella, an adults-only retreat (16 and over) about 6 km from Alba. All rooms look over the Langhe, some with a small covered terrace, and there is an infinity pool and a hot tub. Guided tastings for guests are held on site; start with the [Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/bricco-maiolica-dolcetto-di-diano-d-alba).

## Asti hills and Monferrato: Monvì and Cascina Faletta

[Emanuele Gambino](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/gambino) farms at Costigliole d'Asti, and on the same estate stands the Monvì Wine Relais: eight rooms and two suites, a panoramic pool and a wellness area with a hydromassage pool, Turkish bath and sauna. Tastings of four or six wines are offered; the [Armanna](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/emanuele-gambino-armanna) Nizza Riserva is one to ask about.

[Cascina Faletta](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/cascina-faletta), outside Casale Monferrato, dates its hospitality, cooking and wine to 1881. It has eight rooms and two apartments, with period furniture restored where possible, a saltwater pool, a sitting room with a fireplace and e-bikes for the hills. There is a restaurant too. Order the [Baudolino](https://ilvinobello.com/wines/cascina-faletta-baudolino), a Grignolino from the Casalese hills; our [Grignolino guide](https://ilvinobello.com/editorial/grignolino-monferratos-pale-pip-filled-red-and-its-second-life) explains why it deserves the attention.

## Before you book

Most of these are small family places, so book rooms and tastings ahead, and check winter dates: Casa Castella is already advertising its last rooms before its seasonal closure. Ask about meals and cellar visits when you book; staying on the estate is the easiest way to see where the wine in your glass was made.
